Jeff Costello moved to the west coast in 1969, a pivotal year by anyone’s account, and a dynamo of a time to start a writing career.  Since then Jeff has written for numerous magazines, written and performed music, traveled America far and wide, and developed the keen eye that makes him our resident road warrior.  “Road Notes” is Jeff’s little corner to tell the stories of his travels, share his insights into America today, talk history, music, philosophy, or pretty much just whatever the hell he wants.

Rachael Johnson, a fresh voice in the Portland writing scene, puts a unique spin on current news stories by taking a look back at other moments in history where the same thing went down.  It’s true what they say, history repeats itself, and Rachael is here with each installment to remind us of just how often that is true.
